Check the progress of the implementation of Science and Technology tasks

On April 15, 2022, the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Ninh Province, the Economic Department of Quang Yen Town and the College of Economics, Technology and Fisheries organized a reality check on the progress of implementing the task "Research on Researching diseases and pests on some bivalve molluscs raised mainly in Quang Ninh and proposing solutions to prevent them” by Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh

Joining the inspection team, on the side of the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Ninh province, there was Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu Huyen, an expert from the Department of Science Management as the representative. Mr. Do Hong Hung - Deputy Head of Economic Department of Quang Yen Town and representative of leadership of College of Economics, Technology and Fisheries.

Representatives of the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Ninh province, the Economic Department of Quang Yen town and the leaders of the College of Economics, Technology and Fisheries at the Center for Research and Consulting Services for saltwater and brackish water fisheries.

 

In Minh Thanh commune, Quang Yen town, the delegation worked to test the experimental oyster farming model at Mrs. Pham Thi Nhung's household. The model consists of 02 experimental treatments on density, the distance between the oyster ropes is 40 cm and 30 cm. Oysters are stocked on 2 rafts with an area of 80 m2/raft. Each line of oysters drops 7 pieces, each piece is spaced from 15 to 20 cm apart. Randomly cut 03 oyster lines for each experiment to check. The following results:

- Experiment with seed wire distance of 30 cm: survival rate is 55.9%; Oyster size 8-12 cm, average weight 4.2 kg/barley. Pests: fan worms (+) and sea anemones 2 pieces/bundle

- Experiment with seed line spacing 40 cm: survival rate: 66.7%, oyster size 8-12 cm, oyster weight, average weight 5.2 kg/string. Pests: fanworms and sea anemones 1/ bunch

The inspection team worked at the experimental model

In Lien Vi commune, Quang Yen town. The working group checked the reality of the estuary oyster farming model in the farm raft of Mr. Pham Thanh Lang's household. The following results:

- Experiment with 30 cm seed line: survival rate was 75.1%, oyster size was 8-12 cm, average weight was 5.27 kg. Pests: 3 sea anemones/ bunch, 5 brown anemones/ bunch, 8.3 sea anemone/ bunch

- Experiment with seed line distance of 40 cm: survival rate was 83.8%, oyster size was 10-14 cm, average weight of oyster line was 6.8 kg/string. Pests: Sun 3/ bunch, sea anemone 1/ bunch

- The control distance was 30 cm: survival rate was 70.0% of oyster size 7-10 cm, average weight of oyster line was 4.27 kg. Enemies kneeling 5 children/ bunch, brown crabs 18/ bunch, small crabs 5/ bunch, sun 48/ bunch.

- Control distance was 35 cm: survival rate was 80.4%, oyster size was 8-12 cm, weight was 5.4 kg/string. Pests: sea anemone 3.6 fish/ bunch (11 fish/ 3 bunches), sun 24 fish/ bunch, small crab 3 fish/ bunch, brown maggots 12/ bunch.

According to the conclusion of the inspection team, the estuarine oyster farming model has been implemented on schedule and approved by the explanation, the lead unit and the task leader continue to carry out the work according to the approved schedule.
